This is a very different type of book.
It involved a death row inmate and a heinous crime that sent him there. The story is involving and makes you want to rush to see how things turn out. No Hollywood endings, nothing that makes you go "That wouldn't happen". But solid writing, descriptions and story telling.
But the story is almost more of a political message on the "fairness" of our legal system when addressing the execution of criminals. There is some good insight and without making things to obvious. The author might be considered "liberal" and his character portrayal of some is classic "conservative" made to look pretty callous.
I actually enjoyed this read. It obviously had to involve some serious research and knowledge of the legal system.
